As we turn the calendar to a new year, I wanted to reflect briefly on our 2020 Association year and encourage all members to look forward to the year ahead and beyond.
Despite the events of last year turning our lives and the association’s plans upside down, your 65thInfantry Division Association had a very successful year despite many, many challenges, and disappointments. No European “Right to be Proud” Trip in June and for the first time since 1954, no Reunion. That is not how I had hoped my first year as your President would turn out.
As I begin the first ever second year of a two-year term as your President, we are excited about the accomplishments and strides forward we did make during 2020. How many of us participated in virtual or Zoom meetings prior to last year? Well, your Association Coordination Team, Executive Board had countless hours of meetings virtually. And yes our first ever annual Membership Meeting was held virtually with excellent attendance including first time attendees.
Congratulations are in order and a huge thank you to Christine Phillips for the launching of our new website!
Rest assured that your Association is alive and well and poised to move forward as we strive to live up to our recently adopted mission statement.
'Our Mission is to preserve and promote the history and legacy of the 65thInfantry Division, while developing a culture of fellowship among the veterans, descendants, family, and friends of the 65th Infantry Division.'
Charlie Gemeinhardt
President

Of course, all member information is held with strictest confidence. We are a private organization and DO NOT sell our membership lists.
We publish The Halbert once a year. Make sure that you continue to receive it each year by making a donation to the printing and production.
The Halbert printing costs are not included in your membership.
Of course, we always want you to submit photos and stories for the website and social media...but not everyone spends time online.
The Halbert has been produced for decades and has included some amazing shared stories, history, research, interesting historical context and photos. It has become an invaluable tool for families researching 65th Infantry Division history.
YOUR stories make this publication a success!

Although Reunions have been postponed due to COVID-19, you'll find all the details of our upcoming reunions here!
We've had reunions since shortly after the 65th Infantry Division Veterans returned from WWII and, although COVID-19 caused an unprecedented interruption in our gatherings, soon we'll all be together again.
At each reunion, we have a mandated MEMBERSHIP MEETING that discusses our annual reports, member news and changes, officer appointments and more. Prior to the meeting we'll post many of the reports and documents that members need to review prior to that meeting.
If the Association hosts an online meeting, it will be announced here as well as on social media.
